Retrorespective – what’s this about
May 9, 2011 2 Comments
Now, like most blog’s that exsist, retrorespective provides a forum for me to express my thoughts out on to a semi-open environment, for those who chose to read. I have blogged in the past, however, my blogging was randomised with things that just pop into my head and I wish to share with people.
It occurred to me that this was slightly pointless, as I use other social media sites to do this, and infact to an almost unhealthy level of updating as to what I see and hear. This is not to say that I will stop my random waffling on such sites, ‘cos I enjoy letting people see what I see through my words [twitter account is linked at the bottom of page so u can add me or see what randomness does actually go through my head lol!!].
However, retrorespective is focal. My focus in this blog is to share my somewhat limited, yet growing walk with Jesus Christ and the walk that is, ‘being a Christian.’ A man in my past named Warwick Shenton spoke into my life that I would reach many people for Jesus. Now, with all that said, I took that word and held it close to my heart. However, life in all its complexities took that word from me like it was on a string, and it seemed to be going further and further away from me. I thank God, for the family members and friends that were praying for me, for my life was beginning to really hit rock bottom.

This is aimed to build people up, who are already Christians and reach those who haven’t yet experienced the loving and Living God, whom I write about. The very first thing I read was the bible and the book I read was John 3:16:
God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life
Can you believe that? So God sacrificed his only son, so that I dont have to live a life thats meaningless, empty, and somewhat lonely, but that so I could have a life I know is eternal. The following verse is paramount, for it reads:
God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him
So, this almighty God sent his son to save us, and make us whole, not to come and condemn us and judge us were we are at. The God of Love sent his son to pick us at our point of need or seemingly normal lives to say, hey, I love you for you and all I ask is that you love me too. I hope if you dont know the Jesus Christ whom I am talking about and so many people have got to know , that you get to know him, ‘cos from what I know he is awesome!!

my faith
I do not confess perfection, but I believe in the God of the imperfect. What do I mean by this? God is God and has no faults, he is perfect. Yet, we are born into a world, which due to the ‘fall of man’ is full of sin. However, because he loves me for who I am, with all my faults and all, God still wants me for himself and for that I am grateful and I aim to grow in loving him more, and to strive for perfection in him. I make mistakes, and I am ever grateful for Grace, yet grace through Jesus Christ is something I do not want to abuse. As a Christian, I live a very fulfilled life, and I am happy. It does not mean that it is a ticket to an easy life, but it is a ticket to an amazing life with the full knowledge that God’s got my back.
